Uniting communities to save a city.

After implementing a new gun-violence reduction program called Focused Deterrence, a big-city government saw violence decrease by over 50% in only one year in the pilot program area.  But government red tape stepped in and the program languished, so a new non-profit organization was to be launched to promote the program city wide and save lives.

Designing the campaign.

The new brand identity was created for a city with communities facing extraordinary violence.  Inspired by the famous quote by Mahatma Ghandi, Be The Change, was paired with design elements showing that these simple words were only the beginning of a limitless movement, a brand design element that could be carried throughout different communities and interest groups.

Building the brand.

The most important part of Be The Change was the people… all of the people impacted by the program across the City.  A photojournalism campaign was developed to show a diverse city coming together, and videos produced to tell the incredible story to leaders and citizens alike… most of whom had not yet even heard of the amazing impacts.

Promoting the mission.

The entire campaign was hosted on a newly developed website with engaging imagery and clear calls to action.  The designs were carried through to Facebook and Twitter campaigns targeted towards citizens, leaders and businesses alike in a unified movement to bring an entire city together behind a common cause.
